The commissioner representing Ethiope West, Okpe and Sapele local government areas on the board of the Delta State Oil Producing Area Development Commission (DESOPADEC), Dr Henry Ofa, has warned communities whose youths are harassing contractors to desist forthwith.
The DESOPADEC boss warned that such attitude, if not checked by community leaders, could jeopardise the projects.
Dr Ofa gave this warning while on inspection of the zonal office of DESOPADEC at Adagboyerin Community, Oghara, six class rooms block at Oreki Primary School, Oghara, science equipment at Oreki Secondary School, Oghara, Hospital Road, Oghara, solar water project at Oghara Junction, administrative building at Mosogar Palm wine joint, solar water project at Jesse Roundabout Atiwor Road, Jesse, Okunigho School, Jesse, six unit toilet at Idjerhe Grammar School, Jesse, six unit toilets at Eziafa Grammar School, Eko-Amukpe and Oguanja Primary Health Centre at Mossion Road, Sapele, among others.
The commissioner, who addressed journalists during the project tour, advised communities, where government projects were sited, to give encouragement to contractors, rather than harassing them.
