The Chairman, caretaker committee, Ibarapa East Local Government, Oyo State, Mr Yunus Olaosegba, has said that to key into the technology activities of the world now called global village, one must be computer literate.
Olaosegba said this at a two-day workshop for the local government personnel on computer system held at the local government Legislative Hall, Eruwa.
The local government boss who was represented by the Head, Local Government Administration, Mr Nathaniel Ajiteru, enjoined other local government areas to emulate what Olaosegba has done by computerising the administrative system of the council.
According to Olaosegba, computerisation of the local government administrative system would improve service delivery, increase workers’ productivity, widening the scope of operation of workers in life, easy reference to staff bio data, among others.
The two-day seminar with the theme: ‘Personnel and pay roll computerisation system’ was attended by participants drawn from the eight departments of the local government.
