NFF: Our Confidence in Eagles Paid Off


–Football authority speaks on victory against EthiopiaThe Nigeria Football Federation, NFF has declared that its unshaken belief in the ability of the national team coach Stephen Keshi has paid off with the Super Eagles in the World Cup qualification after theheart-lifting 2-1 away win over the Walya Ibex of Ethiopia on Sunday.Speaking to Complete Sports immediately after the match, chairman Technical Committee of the NFF, Barrister Chris Green expressed his gratitude to God for the victory and commended the NFF board for its steadfastness in standing behind Keshi and giving him the necessary support to achieve success.“What you see today is a manifestation of our belief. We believed victory was possible in Addis Ababa even when the facts on ground stated otherwise. We believed that with God, all things are possible.We believed in Keshi. We believed in the Super Eagles and you just saw them played like true African champions. We never stopped believing. We thank God for today’s victory and though football is not mathematics and we respect our opponents but I advise Nigerians to start booking their tickets for Brazil,” he said.NFF’s Secretary-General, Barrister Musa Amadu who endured a tensed 90 minutes while the game lasted also expressed his relief at the victory and believe that the ticket to the World Cup is already in the bag.He said: “Yes I was tensed because at 1-0, if they’d scored a second goal it would have been over but like the true champions that we are, we fought back to equalize and even before Emenike got the winninggoal, Musa could have scored to put the game beyond doubt.
