NFF Eyes CHAN Trophy


After winning the African Cup of Nations trophy last February, in South Africa, the Nigeria Football Federation are hoping to return to the Mandela nation to win the CHAN trophy for home based players next year. Disclosing this in a chat with Complete Sports in Abuja yesterday, the NFF Assistant Director Media, Ademola Olajire said the federation is very optimistic that the home based Eagles can follow the foot step of the main squad by winning the CHAN trophy in January 2014.He explained that the NFF has lined up a series of international friendly matches to prepare the Eagles for the CHAN tournament which Nigeria is taking part in for the first time, adding that the friendly match with Jordan is one of such matches.”We are looking forward to winning the CHAN trophy in South Africa because we have a good team and also because South Africa has been a good hunting ground for Nigeria in winning trophies.  “We have won AFCON, the African Youth Champion ship, Mandela Challenge and the African Women Championship all in South Africa.
