Confusion in Ekiti over Bamidele’s membership of APC


There are strong indications in Ekiti State that the member representing Ado Ekiti and Irepodun/Ifelodun Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Honourable Opeyemi Bamidele, has dumped his party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), to pursue his governorship ambition in another political party.The indications to this emerged, when other members of the National Assembly from the state, who are also members of the APC, met members of the party from Ekiti South district in Ikere-Ekiti on Friday.The governorship ambition of Bamidele had polarised the party, in recent times, as the members have been torn between Governor Kayode Fayemi, who had already been adopted by the party  for a second term in office and Bamidele, who seeks to vie for the governorship position against Fayemi.Addressing loyalists of the party at the meeting, Senator Babafemi Ojudu, representing Ekiti Central district, claimed that Bamidele had met leaders of the party and had told them the he was leaving.Ojudu, who replaced Bamidele as the chairman of Ekiti State caucus at the National Assembly, alleged that Bamidele had made his intention to dump the party known to  both the interim national chairman of the party, Chief Bisi Akande,  and one …
