The re-election bid of Kayode Fayemi, Ekiti State governor, received a boost last Wednesday, at the third anniversary of the administration, with the presence of Governors Adams Oshiomhole (Edo) and Rauf Aregbesola (Osun); former Governor Niyi Adebayo; Afe Babalola, senior advocate of Nigeria, SAN, and founder of the Afe Babalola University, Ado Ekiti; as well as National Assembly members from Ekiti State. The eminent citizens urged the people to support Fayemi to enable him continue the “good work he started three years ago.”
Recalling how he and other indigenes fought for the state’s creation, Babalola said he would identify with any administration pursuing the vision of the founding fathers, adding that Fayemi, who is “doing that,” must be supported. Oshiomhole said Fayemi had delivered on the mandate given to him by the people, especially with the Social Security Scheme for the elderly and the “huge” investment in education and human capital.
